Ayurveda is the sister science to Yoga. You could say it is Yoga medicine. In Ayurveda, the main interest is in digestion. How do we digest our food?

If we digest food, we are intrinsically well!

It strikes me, as I was chatting to a friend yesterday, that all too often, we ignore the medicine of food. What we eat IS who we are, literally.  How we move our body, IS how the body feels. What we read and consume visually, IS our brain.

It seems that medicine is made up of all these parts. If you want to feel well; eat well, move well, relax well, think well!

Swami Vishnu, my teacher summed it up – there are five points to yoga:
Proper Exercise
Proper Breathing
Proper Relaxation
Proper Diet
Proper Thinking and Meditation

This is our medicine, it seems that Western Medicine is the Complementary Medicine to our own self-care!
